Massage and Bodywork CranioSacral Treatment in NJ (New Jersey) Massage Testimonials in NJ

Are you a good listener? Craniosacral therapy is a gentle form of bodywork that is primarily based on listening to the body through light touch (generally no greater than the weight of a nickel in one's hand), following and communicating with craniosacral motion patterns and light tractioning techniques. In stillness, there is movement. Craniosacral requires listening to and feeling a rhythm that is beneath your heartbeat. In addition to tuning into craniosacral motion, there are additional rhythms to be heard and felt throughout your connective tissues. These additional rhythms may also be referred to as energy.

When you can hear and feel your craniosacral rhythm you are very gently placed into a subtle natural rocking motion, while your body still remains quite still. As rhythmic balance is restored, delicate tissue membranes in the cranium release, clearing space within sinus cavities, creating better musculoskeletal alignment, and relieving fascial tension in the spine, low back, hips, ribcage, throat, and throughout the rest of the body including limbs and joints. Gentle unwinding patterns of the arms, legs and neck may be discovered and accessed to allow for greater range of motion and circulation. Balance and flow are restored to all major systems of the body including Digestive, Respiratory, Integumentary (Skin), Urinary, Reproductive, Musculoskeletal, Endocrine, Lymphatic, Nervous, as well as Sinuses. This treatment is done while the client remains fully clothed. No oils or creams are used.

Craniosacral therapy is an excellent treatment for anyone suffering from TMJ (temporomandibular) Disorder, PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder), Depression, Headaches, Sinus Blockage, Eye Problems, Sensory Integration, ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder), ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), Personality or Behavioral Disorders, Autism, Fibromyalgia, Spinal Misalignment and/or Trauma, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, and Arthritis among others. Craniosacral Therapy and Mouthwork in particular are also sometimes helpful in cases of pre and post oral surgery. All mouthwork is performed with gloved hands.

The Craniosacral system begins in the cranium, extends to the sacrum, and includes the brain and spinal cord, its delicate layers of membranes and nourishing cerebrospinal fluid. The rhythmic flow of the craniosacral system extends outward into the connective tissues of the entire body.

In some cases, emotional release may occur due to sensory neuron activation which is a naturally occurring process through touch. Sensory neurons are located within connective tissues and are believed to contain cellular memory. Through light touch, the fascia or connective tissue responds, and in some cases muscles respond as well. When an emotional release occurs at the cellular level in conjunction with touch, this is referred to as SomatoEmotional Release (SER).

In rare cases of cerebral hemorrhaging or severe inflammation near the brain, this treatment would be contraindicated. It is best to obtain your physician's written consent before seeking treatment for a pre-existing or unknown condition.
