Deep Tissue Massage

Is pain knocking on your joints and under deep layers of muscle and connective tissue? Or maybe the pain is not present, but you know there is a blockage preventing your body from feeling its best. Deep Tissue is the favored choice of athletes and those who naturally crave deeper pressure. Like Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage is excellent for anyone wanting to improve posture, increase range of motion, create better health and wellness and reduce pain and inflammation in the body. Please visit our policies section for information on draping and other policies. In addition, Deep Tissue Massage is also aimed increasing circulation flow to the heart, transporting nutrients throughout the body, stretching and smoothing muscle bellies and their attachments, and creating better harmony among digestive, respiratory, endocrine (hormonal), integumentary (skin), urinary, reproductive, musculoskeletal, lymphatic and nervous systems as well as the sinuses.

Deep Tissue Massage includes all techniques from Swedish Massage generally incorporating firmer pressure as well as friction-based techniques and skin-rolling. Friction and skin-rolling techniques are used to warm the muscles and connective tissues as well as breakdown adhesions due to lactic acid buildup or old scar tissue. Frictioning techniques applied to joints help to create better movement of synovial fluid.

A combination of one or more of the following will be used during the massage: Creams, Lotions, Oils, and moist heat or cold packs. Please visit Biotone.com and /or YoungLiving.com for information on which products may be incorporated.

Deep Tissue is not recommended for areas where varicose veins are present and/or if skin integrity has been compromised (i.e. in some cases of Diabetes), and areas where blood clotting is a risk. DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) is a total contraindication. If taking blood thinners, deep pressure is not recommended to avoid bruising. It is best to obtain your physician's written consent before seeking treatment for a pre-existing or unknown condition. Please see our policies section for more information.
